Yes the theme doesn’t shows tag pages same as category posts (archive), as the tag on pages are completely new feature which was not a core WP feature and was added by plugins.

Just check the Image Slider function and its working fine with the latest version of WP.
Can you please check deactivating all the plugins one by one. It may be the plugin conflict.
