WP core function get_comments_number() retrieves the amount of comments a post has, if there are no comments it return 0.

Login to your admin dashboard and go to Appearance -> Customize -> Design Options -> Custom CSS and paste below custom CSS code to adjust the space between menu.

}

You have to customize the wp_portfolio_theloop_for_archive() function code which is in file inc > structure > content-extentions.php on line no: 133
