You need not have to update via ftp, you can update the theme by the help of this plugin as well.

We have fixed those issue and will be fixed in next version update. Actually revolution slider V6 replace a method and we have to update those in the theme. If you need those update file before next version update contact to our support team here.

This premium themes won’t alert like WP.org theme directory. You have to manually update the theme. We are trying to code those features as well.
