You need not have to update via ftp, you can update the theme by the help of this plugin as well.

We have fixed those issue and will be fixed in next version update. Actually revolution slider V6 replace a method and we have to update those in the theme. If you need those update file before next version update contact to our support team here.

You only modify the excerpt length but not the excerpt more symbol, to remove the excerpt more symbol (…) use below function code.

function mytheme_custom_excerpt_more($more) {
	if ( !is_admin() ) {
		return '';
	}
	return '';
}
add_filter('excerpt_more', 'mytheme_custom_excerpt_more');

You can simply delete all the posts and media and import same as you did for fashion otherwise you can just import the Sports dummy content without deleting any content of Fashion.
