I think you have customize the code ? I found that search is also not working and the hover of sub menu too is also not working. We recommended not to change the code. I found that the slider is not working on Chrome also and too Firefox. This theme works great you can see to our demo site if there works fine there in your site too it must work fine.

You can add one header logo and one header image also.
to add header banner then go to dashboard-> appearance -> header (from here you may add header image)

For the logo
go to dashboard-> appearance -> theme-options -> design options -> header logo

If you are still not satisfy then you may change it from theme folder -> inc -> structure -> header – extension.php on line no 341

From here you may change the code.

Hi Ksuna24,

If you want to disable only certain page / post then go to particular page / post which you want to disable.
Click on screen options at right top of the page /post

Select the Discussion and comments so that it will display below the editor. You will be able to see like this.

Unselect both of them and it will not display the comment section.

Slider must work in IE8. You mean slider not displaying in IE8? I dont think this is theme issue it may be other issue but this theme is not fully compatible with IE8.
