    Yesterday I started seeing warnings on my WordPress dashboard and post edit page, the same as reported in a previous thread here. I came to this site and it was unavailable, like Theme Horse hadn’t paid their hosting bill or something. This morning the site is available again.

    We were promised a better search function on this forum and better load times. This forum is still super slow. Personally, I’m getting a little tired of paying for a theme and having to deal with such low quality support!

    Previously I was having trouble getting emails about the threads I’m subscribed to here. We’ll see what happens with this one.

    You need to update this theme’s code to make these warnings go away and you need to do it fast and give us step-by-step instructions on how to implement changes so we don’t see these warnings anymore and they don’t affect admin functions on the backend. There’s some compatibility issues with WP 4.0

    I’ll paste the warnings I see in my dashboard. The ones on the post edit page are similar, but a little different.

    Warning: simplexml_load_string(): Entity: line 1: parser error : Space required after the Public Identifier in /home/reikihel/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/attitude-pro/library/functions/update_notifier.php on line 123

    I am getting the same warnings after WP4.0 upgrade. When will the fix be available? Previous issues with the same warning have been fixed on a user by user basis. Are you still applying the same approach?

    Hi all,

    Please send your temporary username and password at [email protected] we will look over it. Don’t forget to send the forum url too.

    Thank you!

    We shouldn’t have to let you in to our WP dashboard. Creating UN/PW is time-consuming!!! This is happening for everyone using this theme with the new WP 4.0 update. We’ve provided the warnings (see above and pasted below and other threads here). It’s across the board. Figure it out from the warnings we’re posting and fix it.

    Yesterday all my warnings were gone. Today they’re back but there are less of them. This is what I see in my dashboard:

    Warning: simplexml_load_string(): Entity: line 1: parser error : Space required after the Public Identifier in /home/reikihel/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/attitude-pro/library/functions/update_notifier.php on line 123

    Warning: simplexml_load_string(): ^ in /home/reikihel/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/attitude-pro/library/functions/update_notifier.php on line 123

    Warning: simplexml_load_string(): Entity: line 1: parser error : SystemLiteral ” or ‘ expected in /home/reikihel/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/attitude-pro/library/functions/update_notifier.php on line 123

    As for editing posts (haven’t posted anything new since the warnings started), I’m able to edit and my blog is live, the public can see it. What happens when I edit a post and click update is it retains the edit, but the post edit screen disappears, and these warnings show up. All warnings are in /wp-content/themes/attitude-pro/ so it’s definitely an issue with the theme!

    Our site is showing the warnings as well. Please share how to fix this!

    Go to Dashboard -> appearence ->edit theme -> open functions.php -> search and remove following line

    /** Load update notifier */
    require_once( ATTITUDE_FUNCTIONS_DIR . ‘/update_notifier.php’ );

    take care that you dont delete the curly bracket under these lines.

    Please notice that the update notify function after removing this will not work!

    Personally, I’m not removing anything until I hear from Theme Horse officially. Didn’t this hack break someone’s blog on your other thread about it? Plus, doesn’t it have a reason for being there, so if you remove it… Catch my meaning? Where is Theme Horse, by the way? They’re always too busy cranking out new themes instead of attending to the customers they already have. They posted a couple of times here to email them a temporary username and password but I’m not comfortable with that and since this is theme-wide they need to handle it differently.

    Hi All

    We have already update our theme compatible to WordPress 4.0 and disable some function that make error for the site.
    Login to our site with the same username and password while you have purchase the theme and download the latest version of the theme.

    Thank you!

    I have upgraded to V1.6 and the warnings have disappeared. Hope it stays that way.

    Need some help with updating the theme to the new version. I’m unable to locate how to automatically update the existing version that’s live on my site the way I’d normally do (where it specifies “update available” in the themes portion of the dashboard), and when I tried manually uploading the theme from the zip file, I get an error message that says “Destination folder already exists” and the install fails.

    How, exactly, does one make the update via the WP dashboard?

    Thanks in advance!

    #15868

    Hi SMW,

    If you have not changed anything in our code then you are safe to update the theme. Just deactivate the old theme file and then delete it from the list. Now upload the latest version and activate it.

    Thank you!

    Now upgraded to V1.7 No warning messages. I’m happy
