How to change h1 & h2 header on pages and posts

    Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to change the h1 designation for the header and the h2 designation for sight description on posts, pages, etc. while still keeping it the h1 for the title on my website’s homepage (http://www.theburgernerd.com).

I tried changing it in the content-ext.php but looks like the header-ext.php over-rides it? Or if I change it in the header.php, it will also be changed on the homepage?

I’ve been reading that in regards to SEO it’s better to have your website name and descrip be h1 & h2 only on the homepage and then after that drop it down to h2 or even h3 on posts and pages – while designating the title of the post or page the h1. If you have a different theory or take on it, I’d love to hear it. Also, if you could provide a way to be able to make these changes then that would also be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Trevor

    Hi,
Yes, You are absolutely correct post title should be in H1 it’s now H2. H1 is the best approach for the post title regards to SEO but we have used h2 for the post title.
We will soon fixed this and update it in near update.

Thank you for your feedback. 🙂

    Hi,

Sounds great! I look forward to the update. Is there an eta for the update? If it will be awhile before it’s released, do you currently have a work around solution?

I was also wondering if you are going to include a patch for the Google authorship issues that you recently helped me fix (https://www.themehorse.com/support-forum/topic/error-missing-required-field-updated-google-webmaster/). Basically I’m wondering if I will have to manually re-patch the content.php again or if it will be included.

Thanks for getting back to me,

    Trevor

Great! Hopefully you can come up with a temporary solution to switch the h1 & h2 to get by with until the update is ready.

    Thanks,

    Hi theburgernerd,

There is no temporary solution for this it needs code customization. If you customize the code than your code will be removed whenever you update your theme. Better wait for the update. We will soon fix this and let you know.

    Thanks for your patience.
