It seems that you have customized the code or used third party plugins or widgets and also i can see you have added some code in footer.php too. Hi Greg,

First of all go to dashboard-> appearance-> theme options-> design options -> site layout options and set it to narrow layout. Then only you will be able to change the background color from customizer. Now you can see both header text color and header background color.

First of all go to the theme instructions how to set the business page template and slider etc.

Each and every options is inside theme options and widgets. Go to dashboard -> appearance -> theme options (Play more with theme options to show the color effect, slider etc.)
