While creating gallery i think you have choosen the thumbnail size. So you are getting smaller size.

Just view this below screenshot and select the full size image. You make the thumbnail size to full size image.

Actually your image is also not too big. This is WordPress default gallery. So you need to upload a large image to have full size display. (recommended size image width; 1440)

You can add a text more than 40 characters on this page. The excerpt will display 40 characters by default on attitude theme. If there are more than 40 characters then clicking on read more button will take you to the detail page.

To create a blog page as a top menu, you can create a custom link and give a blog link to that custom menu. No there is no any limitation on the number of top level menus items. Could you provide a screenshot what’s the exact issues is?

No, there may be other issues. Once you try deactivating the child theme and activate only the parent theme and check whether the same problem occurs or not. Creating the child theme must not occur the server error.
