je
Participanthi… i have interface pro (v. 1.0.3), and just downloaded the new files (v. 3.0.2). i don’t know how my site is set up (how do i know if i have child themes?). i want to upgrade, but am scared… also, i don’t think i have custom codes, so please let me know how to back them up if i do. for example, in Appearance: Design Options: Custom CSS, i have this: .wp-caption .wp-caption-text {border-bottom: none}
i am also scared to lose my widgets, plugins, menus and information. can you please let me know if there’s a way to back the theme up and migrate it over, or what parts need to be copied & pasted when the new theme gets uploaded?
thank you,

KeymasterHi je,
If there is no any custom code in parent theme then no worry about data loss, plugins, menus,widgets while updating to new version. Simply delete old version and add a new version. Everything will work fine.
If there is any code customization then all customized code will be lost. To know whether there is child theme or not, there will be activated next theme activated instead of parent theme.
If you are not known whether there is any code customization or not or your developer has made any code customization then backup is very much important. login to ftp and inside public_html-> wp-content-> themes (interface)(backup/copy this interface folder to your pc).
Thank you
