Footer with intranet link is missing
Managing site logo missing in the footer
Site map is gone
Blue color changed to light blue

Hi lteachum,
Sorry there will not be any data loss while updating the theme until and unless you have not customized the theme main code.
We recommended not to change the code because if you change the code then while updating to our new version all your customisation code will be lost. So better make child theme and first unhook the functions and the edit the code.
