I received notice from my webhost that there is a security vulnerability with Slider Revolution Premium Plugin and that I need to upgrade to verison 4.6.5. Can you please advise as to how I can do this? The plugin will be deactivated soon by my host if not updated.

Here is the email from my provider:

Slider Revolution Premium Plugin has released a new verison 4.6.5 for their plugin. A recent hack has been found in older versions of this plugin that allows an attacker to download any file from your hosting account, such as the configuration file containing the database passwords. Once the attacker has this information the attacker can comprise your website via the database.

Your account was found to have the Slider Revolution Premium Plugin. It is strongly recommend you update your WordPress installation(s) to the most current version at this time as well.

I downloaded the latest version of clean retina pro – the Slider Revolution version packaged there is only 4.6. Can you please provide me with 4.6.5 to assure security is met?

I also MUST update Revolution Slider to 4.6.5 or the plug-in will be shut down by my web host making a mess of my site. Please tell me how to do this. I’m using Clean Retina Pro theme and my dashboard is showing no updates available.

Same problem here. I’m using Interface Pro. I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the theme (there wasn’t an automatic update available), but there was no change to Revolution Slider, which is still 4.3.8

Could you please post this topic to the particular forum ? Yes you are right, there is no automatic update available. This revolution slider is zip packed so you first delete the revolution slider and there is new version update of revolution slider and update it from the theme. Before deleting the plugins first make a backup and then only delete the theme and update it. We have zip packed revolution slider version 4.6

I have the exact same problem. My site was severely compromised and was taken over by malware. It has been completely out of commission since December 13th, 2014. Host Gator has cleaned the malware, but my site is disabled until I can get the latest update. Please give this matter immediate attention.

I am still experiencing malware problems because of this Revolution Slider problem – I have downloaded the .zip file of Attitude 1.8 – does this have the updated version of the Revolution Slider that will correct all of these problems?

I just got another security warning from Sucuri on the two sites that I have used the Attitude Pro theme. I downloaded the latest updated version of the theme and installed it and the Revolution Slider is still causing problems:

“RevSlider Plugin outdated: Upgrade required.”

Is thee some way I can get rid of Revolution Slider? Especially since I don’t even use it? Thx.

We have latest version of revolution slider which is pack in our theme. Login to our site with the same username and password while you have purchase the theme and download the latest version of the theme. If you have still one year subscription you will have access to the download the update file. You can find the revolution slider plugin inside the theme directory -> inc -> plugins. Upload this plugin to your WordPress site and activate it.
