Just bought Ambition Pro last night. I already installed the free version earlier in the day, which seemed to work fine. When I try to customize appearances, the process times out — no matter what option I’m selecting without even being able to make a change.

Did you made any code customization in the theme? If there is no code customisation then first deactivate your plugins one by one and test it again if there is still an issue or not. There is nothing issue with the theme.

Are you facing an issue with ambition pro themes only or with free ambition themes too.

No, I didn’t do any code customization. Problem was with both free and pro version. It seems that the plugin causing the problem is Shareaholic Version = 8.0.1. Are you aware of this incompatibility? Is there another sharing = app that works better with the theme?=20

We have checked both in free and pro version of ambition and everything works fine however when we click on shareaholic post type it takes some time to load when we tried in wp default theme which is not theme issue. You can also check from your end by activating default WP Themes(twentysixteen)

You can try WP Social Sharing but we don’t have any recommendation plugins.
