I need the titles for the child pages to appear as soon as the drop-down menu appears and as soon as a visitor hovers on the main nav item, not on the child link hover, otherwise it looks as though the child links are missing. I’m using one of the dark backgrounds from Theme Options for my STLontheWeb.net site, so the content font color is white, link color is green, which is problematic.
This probably isn’t as clear as I’d like. Easier for you to see the problem yourself. See STLontheWeb.net> main navigation bar> Domain Registration> child links.
I’m really quite the high maintenance customer today….:-) TriciaMarch 11, 2014 at 4:47 am #8615Sanjip ShahParticipant
I don’t see any child links under the Domain Registration sub menu. Can you check on that..March 11, 2014 at 2:57 pm #8638
Yes, that’s the problem, you can’t see them until you hover because my site’s font must be white to show against the dark background pattern, but the drop-down menu BG doesn’t render in the site’s dark pattern. Anyway it doesn’t matter anymore because at the end of the business day yesterday I had to remove the dark background pattern and perform an emergency make-over of the site.
The dark background patterns included in this theme are not thoroughly integrated, which has caused a big disaster for me. A very light font color is necessary for the dark pattern, so when ALL PIECES of the website don’t render with the dark background, it’s a nightmare–the font doesn’t show, nor does your cursor. I thought I had everything patched, but found SPECTACULARLY that I had not.
Sent an email to 62 people Sunday evening asking them to comment on my first blog article, and announcing my new website business, but no one could fill in the fields to register and leave comments because they couldn’t see the white font against the white fields. When I tested the comments on Sunday everything looked fine because I was logged in as an administrator, so I couldn’t see the white fields that don’t work. I’m extremely disappointed because I worked too hard and spent too much money on stock photos to match the dark background ONLY TO HAVE THE SITE LOOK BROKEN AND AMATEURISH.
I’ve been in and out of Theme Horse support patching areas of my site with CSS because the dark pattern didn’t carry over to certain aspects of the website (testimonial quotes, search box, etc.) for months.March 12, 2014 at 11:39 am #8669
And…I should also say your themes have saved me a lot of time over the past year in many other ways, and your customer service has always been prompt. Finding a chink in your otherwise shiny armor (this dark background issue), just happened to come at a disastrous time for me.March 12, 2014 at 7:39 pm #8682Sanjip ShahParticipant
We are sorry to hear all the hard time that you had. We will be taking this as feedback and try to improve the color and patterns options.March 14, 2014 at 2:50 pm #8738
