How to enable pre-approval of the posts/blogs by the authors? Currently, the authors can post on their own without any approval. There is a risk of unwanted content if their account gets hacked.

I want to give you a suggestion if you don’t mind. There is a problem that the authors can see each other posts via the dashboard. Though you can restrict them to edit or delete but allowing the authors to see or monitor the activities of the other authors is not a good idea in my view. Further, the same case is with media. Authors have access to all the media that have been uploaded on the website by the other authors. Each author may be allowed to create his own media but they should not be allowed to see other media. In short, There must be complete privacy designed in the theme where each author can see and access his/her own posts, media, etc. This suggestion is also coming from my authors on my second website. I suggested the same to the theme author being used at my second website but they rejected the suggestion by saying that they know what they should have in their theme. End of discussion.

Sorry! This is not the theme problem and we can not customize WordPress main code in the theme. You may achieve those feature from some plugin as well, though thank you for your suggestions.
