How do you create a Page button in the left-hand column that navigates back to the home screen (with the grid images) instead of directing to a separate page? I have seen this on some other sites using this theme, but can’t figure out how to make it work on my site.

Is there a way to make this new Page button serve as the home screen and appear activated when first entering the site? Also, is there a way to deactivate the Header button so it is a non-clickable part of the site?

I figured out how to direct the Page button to the Home Screen (with the grid image). Just needed to play around more in the Customize > Static Front Page section to understand how it works.

But I’m still not sure how to make the Page button appear activated on the Home Screen when first entering the site, and also have the parent URL (example: xyz.com). Currently the Page button navigates to the Home Screen but the URL has an extra permalink ending (example: xyz.com/abcdefg). Not sure if I’m using the correct terminology, but hopefully that makes sense.

Hi bradkester,
Create a page name home.
Go to dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus and create a new menu and add you page name home that you have created before.
Go to dashboard -> settings -> Reading and choose static page and select front page as home.

You can’t remove the header button link. To make it non clickable it needs code customization. You need to hire a developer as this is a new feature to be added in the theme.
