Installation

a) Through Dashboard

  • Log in to the WordPress dashboard.
  • Go to Appearance > Themes.
  • Click on Add New button
  • Search for Mags
  • And for Mags Pro click on Upload Theme button at the top.
  • Click on Install button and for Mags Pro choose the zip file of Mags Pro then click on Install Now and activate it.

b) Manual Installation using FTP

  • Download the Mags/Mags Pro theme.
  • Unzip mags.zip to your desktop.
  • Using an FTP client to access your host web server. Go to /wp-content/themes/.
  • Upload Mags/Mags Pro theme to /wp-content/themes/.
  • Go to Appearance > Themes and activate Mags/Mags Pro theme from Dashboard.

Custom Menus

This theme supports Custom Menu. You can set it through the following steps.

  • Go to Appearance > Menus.
  • Give your menu a name and build it up using little widgets on the right.
  • You can add Pages, Posts, Custom Links, Categories and Format.
  • Now simply select the Display Location to Primary Navigation for your newly created menus using a widget on the left. Afterwards, click Save.

Custom Header Back to Top

This theme supports Custom Header Feature. From this option you can set image in the header.

  • Go to Appearance > Customize > Header Image.
  • Click on Add New Image button to select the image.
  • Click on Select and Crop button.
  • Crop the image according to your wish and click on Crop Image button.
  • Click on Crop and Publish button then click on Save & Publishbutton.

Custom Background Back to Top

This theme supports Custom Background Feature. From this option you can set image for your background.

  • Go to Appearance > Customize > Background Image.
  • Click on Select Image button.
  • After that select the image from your media library and click on Choose button.
  • Then click on Save & Publish button.
  • You can see the preview on the same setting page as well.
  • Click on Save & Publish button.

Specific Post/Page Layout Setting Back to Top

This theme allows you to choose the specific layout for every post and every page display. To set the layout for Post/Page follow the steps give below.

  • Go to Posts/Pages > All Posts/All Pages.
  • Click on any Post/Page.
  • You will see a box named Select layout for this specific Post only. in below part of the text editor box. If you don’t find it, click on the Screen Options in the right top part and check on the Select layout for this specific Post only to show its option.
  • If you select Default Layout Set in Customizer option, the layout set in Layout Options, will be the layout for this post as well.
  • You can select from No Sidebar, No Sidebar, Full Width, Left Sidebar and Right Sidebar to be this post’s specific layout and click on Update button.

Additional CSS Back to Top

If you want to add/edit some CSS, you can follow the instructions below, your custom CSS will overwrite the theme’s CSS.

  • Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
  • Write your Custom CSS there and click on Save & Publish button.

How to Disable Page Comments Back to Top

  • Go to the specific page on which you want to turn off the comments from dashboard.
  • Look for the Discussion box somewhere below the editor box.
  • If you don’t find it, click on the Screen Options in the right top part and check on the Discussion box and then discussion box will appear below the page editor.
  • Uncheck the Allow Comments box in the Discussion box and click on Update button.

Layout Options Back to Top

From this options you can set Site Layout, Content Layout and Post Layout.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Layout.

Global Layout Setting

Every Page/Post that don’t have their specific layout will follow this default layout. Archives (i.e. category pages) will also follow this default layout.
You can select any of this layout Right Sidebar, Left Sidebar, No Sidebar and No Sidebar Full Width for your Page/Post as a default layout.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

Social Profiles Back to Top

From this options you can set the 4 Social Profiles in free and 25+ in Pro which is visible in Top Bar as well as in the Footer section.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Social Profiles. Add the full link to your Social Profiles in the input field individually.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

Header Options Back to Top

From this option you can hide Social Profiles/Top Bar, set navigation to uppercase, set background image/overlay and set advertisement.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Header.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

a) Hide Social Profiles
From this option you can hide social profiles from the top bar.

b) Hide Top Bar
From this option you can hide the top bar at the top.

c) Navigation Uppercase
From this option you can change the navigation text item to uppercase.

d) Navigation Sticky Pro
From this option you can stick the navigation to top even you scroll to the down.

e) Navigation Hover/Active Light Pro
From this option you can set navigation hover/active state to light if you set navigation bar to darker color via Colors > Scheme Color.

f) Hide Breadcrumbs
From this option you can change the navigation text item to uppercase.

g) Header Style
From this option you can change the header style to three different styles.

h) Navigation Center Pro
From this option you can set the navigation text item to Center.

i) Background Image
From this option you can set the background image. Just click on select image button to set the background image for the header.

j) Background Overlay
From this option you can change the background image overlay to dark, light and none.

k) Advertisement Image
From this option you can set the Advertisement. Just click on select image button to set the Advertisement image for the header.

l) Advertisement Image Url
From this option you can set the Url for the Advertisement. Just add the link on the text field to set the Url for the Advertisement.


From this options you can set Banner which will display below navigation.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Banner.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

Banner Settings
From this option you can show the Banner (Featured Slider) on both Homepage or on both Homepage and Posts Page.

Featured Slider
From this option you can set the featured slider.

a) Hide Featured Slider
From this option you can hide the Featured Slider section.

b) Slide Number Pro
From this option you can set the slide number to show.

c) Select Slider Style Pro
From this option you can choose the slider style to ‘Default (Full Width)’, ‘Two Column’, ‘Three Column’, ‘Thumbnail Navigation’ and ‘Centered’. If you choose ‘Image Slider’ type you will see Image Slider option below.

d) Select Slider Type Pro
From this option you can choose the slider type to ‘Post’ or ‘Image’. If you choose ‘Image Slider’ type you will see Image Slider option below.

e) Choose Post Type
From this option you can set the latest posts or show posts from category, if you choose show posts from category option than you will see the category option below where you can choose posts category.


Typography ProBack to Top

From this options you can set Font Family and Font Size.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Typography.

a) Font Family Pro
From this option you can choose between 700+ Google Fonts.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

From this option you can choose font size for sections.

From this options you can set Scheme, Elements, Category and Font Color.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Colors.

From this options you can set Excerpt Length.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Excerpt.

Footer Featured Posts Back to Top

From this options you can set Footer Featured Posts which will display above the footer.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Footer Featured Posts.

From this option you can hide the Footer Featured Posts section.

From this option you can enable slider.

h) Enable Slider to center Pro
This option will only display after setting the background image. From this option you can set the slider to center.

i) Enable Full Width Pro
From this option you can set this section to Full Width.

j) Choose Post Type
From this option you can set the latest posts or show posts from category, if your choose show posts from category option than you will see the category option below where you can choose posts category.


From this options you can choose Footer Widget Column, Hide Copyright/Privacy/Theme By/Powered By/Social Profiles and Footer Content .
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Footer.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

Mags/Mags Pro Settings Back to Top

From this options you can show ‘Featured Image’ in ‘Posts Single’ and ‘Page’, if you set latest posts for your homepage.
To set it go to Appearance > Customize > Mags/Mags Pro Settings.
You will see the options as shown in the image below:

Front Page Tempate (Front Page) Back to Top

You can show your front-page as Magazine Template as shown in our demo.

  • Create a page with any name and choose Front Page Template from template drop down.

  • Choose A Static Page for Your homepage displays option and choose the page that you have created for Homepage option.

Demo Data Back to Top

Importing demo data is the easiest way to setup your site same like our demo.
It will allow you to quickly edit everything instead of creating content from scratch.

  1. Install and Activate the “One Click Demo Import” plugin. If you have not.
  2. After activating it just go to “Import Demo Data” option under “Appearance”.
  3. Download the desired demo data from below:
  4. Choose a XML, WIE and DAT file and click on “Import Demo Data” button than you can see your site with our demo content.
  5. Now go to the Customize where all settings and theme options are available where you can easily customize different aspects of the theme.
