While most people love their Disney Vacation Club (DVC) membership, from time to time -depending on the reasons -- people do decide to sell their membership. What do you do if you want to sell your membership? There are two options. You could offer the contract to Disney. If they do decide to purchase the contract back you can be certain that you will be paid at a rate that is lower than market value for your vacation points. The second option and the most popular to utilize is a resale broker. Resale brokers need to be licensed agents in order to sell timeshares , or even represent them. The process involved is very simple: Contact a resale office of the brokerage Contact the office of a resale brokerage to discuss your contract details (home resort the year of use, the number of points and status of points etc. ). Once you have that information, your agent will inform you of what your contract could be worth based on the current market. Once you've determined the amount you'd like to offer your membership to the agent, they'll send you a listing contract via email. Fill in the required information, then fax or scan the document and email the document back to the broker. After the payment has been accepted, the broker will verify the points with Disney. They'll discuss pricing with you. After that they'll then list your package. In case where you demand a useful content on DVC resale, browse this site. It could take less than 30 days based the broker you choose to find a buyer. Closing can take 6-8 weeks depending upon the broker. Once the deal is completed, the title company will overnight a check that is certified to you in exchange for the proceeds of the sale (selling price, less any fees as well as a commission to the broker, which is usually 8.5% of the sale cost). A typical cost to sell your contract is approximately 8.5 percent commission to the broker, and $150 Disney fee at the time of closing. It is not common to be assessed any fees or charges if your contract doesn't sell. Our site sponsors, The Timeshare Store, has been in the business of representing sellers and buyers of DVC for more than 25 years. They do not charge any upfront fees, and they take care of all aspects of selling a property, such as finding an interested buyer, listing and advertising your contract, as well as collecting all necessary documents, including the deposit for escrow. The Timeshare Store will also handle Disney's Right of First Refusal process. (Disney reserves the right to buy back the contract if it is in their best interests to take this action).
