Trong hệ thống chữa cháy tự động sprinkler có hai loại bơm được sử dụng là: bơm chữa cháy động cơ điện và bơm chữa cháy động cơ xăng hoặc diezel. Thông thường máy bơm chữa cháy động cơ điện được sử dụng để tận dụng năng lượng có công suất lớn của mạng điện xoay chiều.
