@heinechristensen Yes our theme does not include shortcodes. Shortcodes are basically plugin territory, they should come from plugin rather than within the theme. If shortcodes are built within the theme then there is a chance that the site will break while you switch the theme. You could try the page builder plugins to create the layouts. You could try this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/.
