Hi Jim,

To shortened the post/page title in slider go to Appearance -> Customize/Theme Options -> Design Options Tab -> Custom CSS paste the following CSS code and Click on save button:

.featured-text .featured-title {
    overflow: hidden;
    text-overflow: ellipsis;
    white-space: nowrap;
}
