I was just researching this as I am trying out this theme. Here’s what I found… go to Dashboard->Edit CSS and add the following:

.home .entry-title {
	display: none;
}

HOME on the menu still brings you to this page, and it won’t change how other static pages are displayed (ie an ABOUT page will have the ABOUT title).
