    Hello,
I’m using Portfolio Pro Theme version 1.0.2 and it seems not to be compatible with latest versions of PHP (8.3).
How can I do to correct that ?
Should the latest version of this theme be alright ?
In the change log, it is not mentionned…

    Hi Daniel,

    Thank you for reaching out.

We’d like to confirm that the current free and premium version of WP Portfolio theme is fully compatible with PHP 8.3. If you’re experiencing any issues, it’s likely due to a specific server configuration or a plugin conflict rather than the theme itself.

To ensure everything runs smoothly, please make sure:

    • WordPress and all plugins are updated to their latest versions.
    • No deprecated or incompatible plugins are causing conflicts.

If the issue persists, feel free to share any error messages or describe the problem in more detail we’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot.

Also, thank you for pointing out the changelog note. We’ll make sure to include PHP version compatibility in future updates for better clarity.

    Thank you!

Hello, I’m sorry to disagree with you… Here is the error message I got when trying to upgrade to PHP8.3 :

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function create_function() in /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/wp-content/themes/wp-portfolio-pro/functions.php:13 Stack trace: #0 /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/wp-settings.php(611): include() #1 /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/wp-config.php(94): require_once(‘/home/sc1vrjm60…’) #2 /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/wp-load.php(50): require_once(‘/home/sc1vrjm60…’) #3 /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/wp-blog-header.php(13): require_once(‘/home/sc1vrjm60…’) #4 /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/index.php(17): require(‘/home/sc1vrjm60…’) #5 {main} thrown in /home/sc1vrjm6069/lisiere.com/wp-content/themes/wp-portfolio-pro/functions.php on line 13

The create-function in your file functions.php seems to be deprecated…

Can you help me please to find a solution ?

    Thanks, Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

Just to clarify — there is no create-function in the functions.php file at line 13, so the error might be coming from a different source.

We recommend the following steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (such as Twenty Twenty-Four).
    2. Delete the current copy of the WP Portfolio Pro theme from your site.
    3. Download a fresh copy of WP Portfolio Pro from your account.
    4. Reinstall and activate the theme.

Also, please note that this could be caused by a plugin conflict, rather than the theme itself.
    To ensure everything runs smoothly:

    • Make sure WordPress and all plugins are updated to their latest versions.
    • Deactivate any outdated or incompatible plugins that may be causing issues.

If the problem persists, feel free to reach out with more details — we’ll be happy to assist you further.

    Thank you!
